The Dedication of the Witch
All witches, even solitary practitioners, need to dedicate themselves to the craft, and all that it means. This should be a ritual that is taken quite seriously, but at the same time, should be joyful. Only you can choose what you will do for your ritual, what offerings you will make to the Goddess, etc, but below, you will find a dedication that can be used while you are performing the dedication ritual:
I call upon the Source of All Things to instill within me the power of magick, through which I can draw down the moon, call upon the Gods, and manifest my desire in accordance with my will.
I call upon the Source of All Things to instill within me the awareness called compassion, through which I can discern true will, call upon my higher nature, and manifest my desire with harm to none.
I call upon the Source of All Things to instill within me the wisdom of forethought, through which I may harm no one, call upon my experience, and manifest my desire to know, dare, will, and keep silent.
I am (name) - born of power, compassion, and wisdom. Though born of this world, my race if of the stars, with harm to none, I manifest my will and submit to my higher self. To know, to dare, to will, and to be silent.

Ribbon magick can be done with cord, thread, or ribbon. When finished with the spell, put the cord in a safe place, and leave it for as long as you want the spell to work. When you wish to undo the spell, undo or cut the knots. When you cut ribbon or cord for magickal use, measure and cut it in a length divisible by three, such as 3 inches or feet, 15 inches or feet, etc.
